Aeromexico, the leading airline of Mexico will deploy a B787 Dreamliner on its Mexico City to London Heathrow route a month earlier than previously announced. The carrier will fly the aircraft twice-weekly from 15th March until 31st and then from 16th April. There will be no B787 service between April 1st and April 15th. It had previously planned for the Dreamliner to join the route which is currently operated by a B767-200ER on 16th April.
Aeromexico’s two-class B787 accommodates a total of 243 passengers with 32 in business and 211 in economy, which means there is an increase in capacity of 72 seats compared with B767-200ER. The B767 also doesn’t have fully-flat beds in business or a seat-back IFE system. British Airways currently operates a four times weekly service between Mexico City and LHR.
