Malaysia Airlines and Japan Airlines have established a new code share destination Vancouver that took effect from 24th December 2013. This new codeshare would give the national carrier access to Vancouver, Canada via Tokyo. Now the Japan Airlines would provide flights to Vancouver from Narita and vice versa carrying the Malaysia Airlines flight code.
MH9770 will depart Narita at 6.05 pm daily and arrive at Vancouver at 10.00am local Canadian time the same day. Meanwhile MH9769 will depart Vancouver at 1.00pm daily and arrive at Narita at 4.30 pm the next day. Guests from Malaysia can connect to these services on any of Malaysia Airlines’ 11x/weekly services between Kuala Lumpur and Narita.
According to Ahmad Jauhari, Malaysia Airlines’ Group Chief Executive Officer, Malaysia Airlines is very much pleased to offer its customers an extended reach to Vancouver via Tokyo. This code share will also allow access for Japan Airline customers from Vancouver into Kuala Lumpur. This initiative will surely increase tourism in Malaysia in conjunction with Visit Malaysia Year 2014.
Malaysia Airline currently flies direct to over 60 worldwide destinations and a further 800 destinations in more than 150 countries via its oneworld partners.
