Malindo Air, a Malaysia based airline, has launched flights to Trichy in India. With the entry of Malindo Air in Indian sky the competition on India-Malaysia sector has increased.
Malindo Air has plans to operate three flights a day by the end of 2014 and an evening flights by May.
This Malaysian carrier is also planning to start flights to Mumbai and Ahmedabad from Kuala Lumpur. The airline has further plans to launch services to Chennai, Madurai, Coimbatore, Cochin, Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam.
The airline is all set to intensify competition on Kuala Lumpur-Delhi and Kuala Lumpur-Mumbai routes. These routes are presently served by Malaysia Airlines (MAS).
Further the airline will be competing against AirAsia on KL – Trichy route and will become the only airline offering flights to Ahmedabad from Kuala Lumpur.
With 23 weekly flights to India, this Malaysian carrier will be adding 4,140 one-way seats on India – Malaysia sector.
