Soon the passengers flying between Vienna and Tehran will have more travelling options as Austrian Airlines, the flag carrier of Austria, has announced to relaunch flights to Tehran again from 11 March 2014 onwards.
The Austrian carrier will operate five return flights a week between these destinations. The flights are subject to regulatory approval. This leading Austrian carrier already had links with the Middle East as it had been flying to Iranian capital since 1984.
The carrier stopped flying to Tehran in January 2013 citing commercial reasons that includes inflation of the Iranian currency and the economic and political sanctions against Iran.
Austrian Airlines, the largest carrier in Austria flies to 130 destinations with a fleet size of 73. Resumption of flights by Austrian Airline will improve business and tourism in Iran.
