Saudi Arabian Airlines, the flag carrier of Saudi Arabia, has launched direct flights to Toronto.
The first flight from Saudi Arabia arrived at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport on Monday. With the launch of the flights, the airline which operates as Saudia, has become fourth Gulf carrier to launch flights to Canada.
The inaugural flights received customary festive water salute when it touched the tarmac of Toronto’s Pearson International Airport.
Saudia will run three direct flights a week to Toronto using Boeing 777-200.
The launch of new flights will be beneficial for Saudi students as well as Canadian pilgrims who visit Saudi Arabia for hajj and umrah.
More than 14,000 Saudi students joined various educational institutions in Canada last year.
The launch of flights will strengthen the trade and tourism ties between these countries.
