AirAsia X to boost flights to Australia

AirAsia X is planning to increase the number of flights to Sydney, Melbourne and Perth in Australia, later this year.

The airline will increase the number of flights from Kuala Lumpur to Sydney and Melbourne to 14 flights a week. The airline is currently operating 12 flights a week on this route. The airline is also planning to up the number of flights to Perth, from nine weekly flights to 14 flights a week.

AirAsia X will start daily flights from Kuala Lumpur to Melbourne on October 1 and to Sydney and Perth on November 25.

The announcement came after the Australian and Malaysian governments reached a bilateral agreement and AirAsia X’s expanded its fleet of Airbus A330-300s that will allows it to have 16 aircraft at end of the year.

News-Air-Asia-XWith increased capacity the AirAsia X is supposed to become Australia’s fourth largest foreign carrier by end-2013.

The flights of AirAsia X will Kuala Lumpur to Sydney, Melbourne and Perth routes have performed very well and the introduction of daily flights will be helpful to meet the growing demand of passengers.
