Delta Airlines, a major United States airline with headquarters in Atlanta Georgia in the United States started flights to Quebec City in June.
The nonstop flights will operate between New York JFK and Quebec City. Delta Connection partner Chautauqua will fly two daily round- trip flights on the route using 50-seat Embraer E145 regional jets.
According to Gaëtan Gagné, CEO of Aéroport de Québec, The addition of JFK will greatly benefit the passengers and this new flight will open the region to international tourists and business people.
Delta has a large international hub at New York’s JFK airport. No other airline flies nonstop flights from Quebec City to JFK, though United offers four daily United Express round-trip flights to Newark Liberty. In addition to the new JFK service, Delta also resumes its seasonal service from Quebec City to its hub in Detroit. The route will resume from 9th June, with Delta Connection partner Chautauqua operating one daily round-trip flight with Embraer E145 regional jets. The Detroit –Quebec service is slated to run through 3rd September 2013.
Delta Airlines is intended to provide JFK-Quebec service throughout the year.
